DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND.

Pedigree is on a nationwide recall.

Pedigree made my 6 month old puppy too ill to eat anything for days.

If you have this brand please toss it and buy Purina, Science Diet, or Blue.

Please do not feed this to you…

Always buy veterinary brand food. It’s more expensive, but pretty much guaranteed not to cause your pets illnesses.

That’s what we buy for my 11 Cats.

I disagree VERY VERY MUCH. The price difference just isn’t even REMOTELY AN OPTION for many, many people. Vets are given that food and HAVE to sell it p much (why vets will often suggest one type of medication, or one treatment option. or will suggest a diet change if they know you aren’t using their stuff. they need to concern themselves with profit for the products given to them by suppliers). They’ll force it on you if they have to (my vets don’t, thank goodness. they also have hardly any at their office itself). Also, often times the food isn’t even that much better, it’s just priced up to give the placebo effect to people who just want to do the best they can for their pets.

I repeat. RESEARCH. There are alternatives. Please, please don’t be going around telling people that veterinary brand food is their best/only option.

It isn’t.

When tibs we peeing on towels my vet told me to switch him to their special dry food which was 5 bucks a pound. I asked to try and put him on normal wet food first and even though the vet said it wouldn’t work it did. Stopped going to that vet after all that.

The barreleye fish is also known as the spook fish. It has a completely transparent head. Its eyes are located inside the head and can rotate within the socket so the fish can look in multiple directions. (Source) (Video) (Nocturnal Creatures)

Ray Frenden reviews the too-cheap-to-be-true Monoprice graphics tablets. How do they stack up to industry standard Wacoms?

After spending a week with the 6.25“x10” Monoprice, my Yiynova and Cintiq remain unplugged and I gave my Intuos away to a friend. The Monoprice tracks subtle pressure variances and small movements with less lag and more crisp fidelity than any of the others. It is, put crudely, fucking awesome, in both OSX Lion and Windows 7 x64.

I have one of these, 10x6.5 I bought about two months ago for 48 bucks. It’s a billion times better than my old Wacom Bamboo and works like a fuckin dream.

ATTENTION ALL PENNY-PINCHING ART FRIENDS!!!

ooo reblogging this for potential future purchase

They’re DEF good. The textured surface makes drawing a lot more organic and it feels more like you’re drawing on paper. It’s super nice. Just a word of warning though—I had to replace mine twice in under a year due to it just failing out on me. Other people have had better luck, but just be aware. But, they offer free repairs and will often send you a new one!

This is what I use and it’s a REALLY solid tablet to boot.

SERIOUS CONSIDERATION

At one point I had both a Monoprice tablet and a Wacom tablet. After a couple days the Wacom tablet ended up in the trash. Now it’s almos 2 years later and my Monoprice still works like a dream.
ALSO REPLACEMENT MONOPRICE STYLUS PENS ARE ONLY $10!

It also has problems with PaintToolSAI but THEN AGAIN ALL THINGS DO AT THIS POINT since SAI is so ancient. But just letting people know if you’re intending to get one. I returned mine because I couldn’t get it to work with SAI and I’m pmuch SAI 4lyfe.

On the other hand mine worked fine for SAI!  It’s also worth mentioning that Monoprice sells other very discounted electronics.  I got my keyboard for I think 8 or 12 bucks and it’s wonderful.  Buy your ethernet cords there too!  Very inexpensive and shipping is always 2 day shipping for $5, no matter how many things you get.  Seriously great place.

Notes on Character Design

lackadaisycats:

Character design and drawing are tome-sized topics and even if I had all the answers (I don’t - I have a lot to learn), I’m not sure I could communicate them effectively. I’ve gathered some thoughts and ideas here, though, in case they’re helpful.

First, some general…
